Simple Handmade Flowers Card

Handmade Flowers
Hi friends, I am going through a rather stressful time balancing everything in life and was debating stopping sharing my crafty creations online but after thinking long about it I decided my blog and blogger friends were very dear to me so I would continue to blog but distance myself from Facebook.
If you have been following me on Facebook, do forgive me as I will not be posting regularly on Facebook but you can still get updates about  my tutorials via email  by entering your email address in the "follow by email" gadget in the right hand side of the blog
Sharing a simple card with some stitching , handmade flowers , a die cut Cheery Lynn  heart and tiny Cheery Lynn  butterflies fluttering all over.

Over the years many people have asked me how I found time to craft and blog... well right now it is a tightrope for me and I am struggling.....Dear friends do tell me how  you are balancing crafting, blogging, DT commitments and sharing on the myriad social media out there!

I think many of us struggle to combine all kind of things in our lives. And it' s not always possible to do everything you want to do. So you have to make choices. I sometimes think a day is to short.
I love the card you made. Especialy the flowers.

  11. What a stunning card, Sonia!! I love the gold embossing!! The flowers look amazing!! It's absolutely gorgeous!! Love, love it!!

I have the exact same problem...I just can't keep up with everything. I thought about taking a blog break. I even tried only commenting once or twice a week, but then I was commenting for like three hours and I just couldn't do it. I try to keep up once a day, but it still takes me almost an hour. So I have pretty much quit Facebook, too. My posts automatically post there, but I just can't keep up with everyone there and in blogland. It's too much. I don't post much on my blog because of time commitments, either. There are some bloggers who post every single day and sometimes more than once and I do not know how they do it!! I need more hours in the day :) I'm glad you decided to keep blogging!! You would truly be missed my friend!! Have a great day :)

  12. Dearest Sonia, lots of my friends are contending with discovering that Elusive Balance- like you, I finally had to step back. Each of us is only capable of doing so much, and we need to listen to heart, mind and body to make decisions and then choose to do what we know is in our best interest, and for those dear ones who depend upon us. It is hard to know what is best without some important quiet time to determine what our motivations are.

The hardest thing for me is to recognize my limitations since my abilities constantly change. None of us are able to do everything we wish to accomplish.

I'm so appreciative of how generously you share yourself with us, and be a loving mom and be a doctor.

About your card - it's gorgeous and So beautifully colored and designed! xo

  13. Beautiful card Sonia!! Lovely flowers as always!! Beautiful colors.. Well I'm not in a position to advice you on how to balance things.. But I can tell you this. Follow your instincts.. Do what you think is best for you and family.. Your wellbeing and your family's comes first.. But we'll miss you very badly if decide to stop posting.. We can live without FB.. But again what matters is your wellbeing.. Today I was wondering if you are on Instagram.
One thing I did when I found I needed more time to create was, I prioritized my blog reader list. I realized I spent more time reading blogs than actually creating.. Of course reading blogs is what inspires us.. But then when there is a time limitation, I think we need to think about that too. So I separated it into 3 categories- one consists of all the blogs that I prefer to read and comment on every post.. 2nd one I try to read every post and comment when possible.. 3rd I read when I have the time. That really helped me.

  21. Sonia, time to do it all is the downfall of us all. With all the new social media outlets, it seems I spend more time on the computer than in my craft room doing what I love. Add family and work into the mix and it is exhausting. Don't stop crafting, it is such good therapy. Create when you can and the same with the blog. Your flowers are wonderful and the colors devine! With the die and the golden butterflies, so lovely.

  22. My dear friend, I am delighted to see a post from you. Your card is stunning, in color and design! The flowers are beautiful, I adore the golden butterflies (especially atop he heart), and the heat-embossed musical script is exquisite. Lovely creation from your beautiful heart.

I think many of us are in this same lack-of-time boat... and I'm glad you have chosen to stay. When I was away due to injury, I realized just how much time had been invested into the crafty community. It has become overwhelming to keep up with everyone everywhere and I finally had to make some changes. I was running myself into the ground. Most of my friends know my injury lingers and that my family keeps me very busy, so when I need a day or two away, they beautifully understand any delays. At most I post twice a week, usually only once, and I am amazed at people who do more than that. It is a delicate balance to keep this craftiness a joy and not a burden... and it is so important to enjoy other aspects of life, including precious moments with family. I think it's important for people to realize that their creations are being enjoyed, but a lot of people just don't have the time to leave notes on every project... particularly when they post a ton.

I am thankful you have decided to stay because I truly cannot imagine this adventure without you! Your work inspires, but more importantly your *heart* is beautiful.

    Hugs and blessings,
    Karen

I understand how you feel...I have been going through the same for some time now...It so hard to find the balance...I think what is important is we should keep creating in some way ...even if it is for 5-10 mins a day....and even if we are not sharing it on a public platform...When I find it difficult to find time to craft...I spend a few mins on my Art journal...its a great stress buster....

I am always so impressed and inspired by your blog. I should hate not to see it, however lifestyle is so very difficult to get a balance and understand you having to cut down, I am retired and find it difficult to keep a balance on line, so having a family a job and try and keep up with what is after all a hobby, good on you. Perhaps we all should look at our balance on the computer.

I am so sorry to read that you are struggling. I was having a hard time with it too - and I don't work now so I'm not sure how you are able to do it all! I have a few health problems with a chronic illness and I was feeling overwhelmed. How I handled it was by taking a break from my blog this summer. It really helped and now I feel like making cards again. I had completely lost my mojo when I got overwhelmed. I don't do much on facebook or other social media, just my blog, so I can't comment on those. Your projects are so incredible and beautiful so I am glad you decided continue to share with us. The break away from blogging worked well for me so maybe a break from facebook will work for you! Wishing you all the best!

  57. Thank you for adding your beautiful card to our August challenge. I love your hand made flowers, so beautiful and lovely coloured too.
Sounds like you have made a wise decition in what you will prioritize for a while. There just isn't enough hours in the day to do it all. Just recently I realized that I had to stop working 24/7, so to speak, and set aside more time to spend with my beloved ones in the evenings and during weekends. This means that I've also spent less time on social media, but a nice result of my taking more time off is that I've been much more creative lately! Running a business on my own does take a lot of time, but there are things I can set aside for later... so I did :-) And it's silly, isn't it, to run a stamp biz but not having the time to use my own stamps.... but now I do, and it sure feels great! :-)

About your time crunch issues, it seems like you've echoed my thoughts Dr. Sonia !! Even I'm feeling stressed out and find it really difficult to balance it all. My mojo is low and it has been a while since I've managed to make a decent card that I truly love and enjoyed making. I miss visiting my friends blogs and participating in the challenges . I think you've taken a wise decision to continue blogging . You have been an inspiration to so many of us. It feels so comforting to see my crafty friends' posts on my dashboard.
